Dear Walkera Support Team, unfortunately during an attempt to upgrade the firmware, i got an blue screen on my pc. Now the tx has no function . Please tell me, what should i do. Do you have an workaround about this kind of malfunction? Can i send this tx to Walkera/China to restore the firmware? Thank you in advance. Kind Regards Katie

You had a blue screen of death (BSOD) during the upgrade process? Ouch! That could be a problem.
Have you tried to turn the Tx on in update mode? Hold down the 'EXT' button and turn it on. Do you get the update screen? If you do, you could try to reinstall the fw update. If you get nothing, then you might want to PM Dave and get his suggestions.

Let me see if I have this correct. Your tx will startup in update mode, but you can't install the fw update because your computer won't restart?
If I have this correct, then the problem seems to be the computer. Not the Devo.
Do you have access to another computer? Preferably one with Windows 7. You could try to install the fw update on the other computer.

you misunderstood me - the tx has definitely no function. I'm not able to turn on the tx. I've tried many different procedures to turn on the rc, but the rc remains dead...

I would definitely PM Dave and get his input as to whether or not anything can be done about your Tx.
Good luck to you Katie...

Any information on what you should do with this situation? I play around with upgrades enough to worry about my PC crashing in the middle of the operation so it would be nice to know if there is a recovery procedure for this type of failure.

A BSOD during any update function (Computer bios, Ipod update, etc) can be a BIG problem. Same way with suddenly removing power or unplugging a device when it is updating. Majic1 is correct in that it was your computer that caused the failure, not the TX itself.
OK, first I'll ask the obvious. You do have fresh batteries and the battery lead is connected to the power input connector on the TX, right? If you have a 12-15 volts DC power adapter of the correct polarity you might try plugging that in, too.
Now, even though the DEVO 10 shows no signs of life, turn the power switch to the "on" position and see if you can get any response from the software (The TX itself will still appear dead but you should be able to tell if it is communicating). If it is, you should be able to erase the firmware and then start from scratch.
If that still doesn't do the trick, then yes, you can send it to Walkera for repair. Be prepared to pay $30-$40 shipping each way and wait about 6 weeks. You might be better off just purchasing a new TX. For that matter, I will discount your price on a new one $15.00 if you will send me your "bricked TX" which I can use for parts like when someone breaks an antenna or something. If you would like to do that, I will send you a discount code as soon as I get your old TX. I will also ensure you have the latest firmware on it so you won't have to go through this process again.
