For those of you new to CP heli's, or those of you interested in adding a Mini CP to your collection, here is some basic info regarding the Mini CP.
First, this is a very well made heli. For how small it is, It is very stable and flies more like a bigger heli. It has a very high RPM motor. The high rpm's mean more stability and greater head speed, which is very important for 3D flight.
It has a separate tail motor for the tail rotor, which is kind of a bummer. But you really can't make a shaft or belt drive system this small that would work and be dependable. Amazingly, the tail holds very well, especially on a fresh battery. After it starts to lose juice I have to stay on the rudder a little. This little heli is also very durable and the replacement parts for it are quite reasonable. I've been mainly flying it in the house. The first few times I flew, I did manage to nick the piano bench a couple of times, which sent it crashing to the ground. but, no damage! It comes with an extra tail rotor and an extra set of main blades. but, I haven't yet needed to replace any parts on it.
I did to the servo saver mod on it before its first flight. And that probably saved my servos when they smacked the piano bench.
I'm also using the Turbo Ace 300mAh upgraded batteries and a 3-way series charge cable. With the stock motors on it, I'm getting 4min flights. When I eventually install the brushless kit and buy the 350mAh batteries, I should be getting 5 or 6 min flights. Maybe more?
All-in-all, it is a very fun little heli to fly. I mainly fly it in my house when my other heli's are down, or waiting for replacement parts to arrive. It's also great for the winter months, when its too cold to take your other heli's outside.
Now that I've had it a couple of months and have had the time to get used to flying it, it is a lot of fun cruising it around the house.
For those of you transitioning from FP to CP, the Mini CP would be a good first choice due the its stability and cost of replacement parts. It also flies very well and you can learn a lot on it. It's also very good for learning 3D manuevers on before trying them on your bigger birds.
I would highly recommend a Mini CP for beginners or just to add another heli to you fleet. You should be impressed!
Happy Flying!
