Hello...I'll get the intro out of the way first. I am 60 years old. Retired from (Ma Bell) telephone company. Work part time now driving a transit bus. Arizona native. My brain tells me I'm not 60 but my body tells me otherwise. So I still play and have fun. After beating cancer 2 times I don't have a lot to complain about. My next 30 years I will play as hard as I can and not sweat the little stuff.
Looks like a few new Walkera 350 pro owners out there with my skill level. Hope to be sharing experiences with the beginners and learning from the pro's. Have been flying for about 3 weeks now. I bought 2 batteries so I can get at least 40 min of fly time. I have not used any GPS or compass settings yet. Started flying in the house just to get my hovering skills refined. I'm flying outside now and just flying in circles. Also trying to get use to orientation when I turn myself around. So far I have learned to just let go of the stick when I get confused and it will hover in place long enough to get myself re-oriented. I ordered a go-pro 3 for the gimbal that came with it. I'm hoping I will have go enough skills to be comfortable strapping the camera on when it gets here. I live in a very rocky desert mountain terrain here in Arizona. Lots of wildlife to film.
I do have question if someone can help me out.
1. I have a Devo 10 transmitter and wanted to buy a rechargeable battery for it. AA's just don't last very long it seems. Any suggestions?
2. Are the carbon fiber props worth changing to? I have hit the plastic ones they come with and the tips have cracked a bit. Should I just buy stock or upgrade?
Thanks
Ed
