Instructions:
I usually check for the latest versions of the "Devention Dfuse Upgrade Tool" program and any available updates for my Devo 8s Tx. Download them from Walkera's website, then do the following:
(*Note: You must first set up an account on Walkera's website and Log-in to access and download any updates).
Remove any previous version of the "DfuSe Upgrade Tool" from your computer.
Install the latest version. (*Note: v1.4 or later supports Win7).
After installing the Upgrade Tool, do the following:
You should find out what fw version is currently on your Tx if you have not already done this. The information is in the about screen.
My Devo 8s came with fw v6 on it. I will describe the method to upgrade from fw v6 to v7, which is the same process to go from v7 to v8...etc.
Extract the fw v7 .dfu files into a temporary folder somewhere on your computer.
Make sure your Tx is turned off.
Plug the USB Update cable into the Tx. Plug the other end of USB cable into a USB port on your computer. (*Note: The USB to USB mini Update cable comes with the Devo8(s)).
hold down the 'EXT' button on the Tx, then power it up.
The "program update" screen should appear on the Tx.
Open the "Dfuse Upgrade Tool" app.
The Upgrade Tool app should recognize the connected DFU device(Your Tx) and display DFU Mode information in the upper right hand corner. Vendor ID, Product ID and Version.
After you have confirmed the utility does see your Tx, click the "Firmware" tab. Click the [...] button next to the "Upgrade File" text box and locate the v7 .dfu files you just extracted. Select the v7 .dfu file and click the "Upgrade" button. This should only take a few seconds. The updates are very small .bin files. Next, click on the "Libraray" tab. Under "Upgrade or Verify", click the [...] button next to the "File" text box and locate the Library .dfu file you extracted and click the "Upgrade" button again.
Click "Quit" when you are finished.
Turn off the Tx.
Disconnect the USB cables.
Start the Tx and verify the fw version in the about screen.
