Hi everyone, I'm a 60 year old kid in Virginia who got into RC helis about 3 years ago. I recently got a Hoten X w/Devo7 and fell in love! I'm considering a camera setup but confused about the different ones and which actually does what. If you would be kind enough to point me to a link that explains my questions that would be great! Otherwise, please: 1. Of the cameras Walkera makes; is the resolution the same across the board Z-18, DVO4, TX5805, etc? Recording quality the same? 2. If I had an iPhone and one of the TX5805 camera/transmitters, could I use the iPhone as a FPV viewer? Heard anything about an Android app in the near future?
Thanks in advance

This is a significant subject. If you can post specific quests like you did here then you have a better chance of getting answers. Most knowledgeable people could write pages and pages on this topic alone. For example there is the video recording line of cameras and equipment and then there is the FPV line of cameras and supporting equipment. Anywhere from identical components that do one or the other or both at the same time in some cases to two totally separate set ups even on the same quadcopter.
1)Not sure. TX5805/6 is the same as the DV04 - 1280x720. I do not know the resolution of the DV05 which is wifi. 2)The TX5805 does not transmitter a wifi signal. To use your iPhone requires the use of the DV05 camera/wifi transmitter. The TX5805 works with the F4/F5 or the high end goggles. When you go looking at the two goggles you will know right away which is the high end ones. I have asked Walkera Technical Support multiple times about the Android app and they always say it is coming but no sign of it yet so I would not count on it until I see it. I have offered to beta test it for them for free and I buy the DV05 and supply the Android phone for free. They thanked me but that is all I have heard.
WHS has the full lineup of Walkera parts for video and FPV so you can talk to them about what you need.

I just noticed a nice pictorial of Walkera's FPV setup using a GoPro camera. Checkout walkera.com/en/showgoods.php?id=2507 It is about a third of the way down the page. Simple but it says so much. Enjoy. They also show a camera mount on the same web page that has a DV04 mounted just above a GoPro camera on a X350. THat is a way to have a different camera for FPV and the GoPro for high resolution recording of the flight.
