As I stated in an earlier thread, the V200D03 is prone to stripping gears, like all shaft drive heli's are. To me this is not an issue. The gears are inexpensive and fairly easy to replace.
What causes this? You might ask. Well, anything that will stop the blades from spinning, like a main blade strike due to a crash, or a tail blade strike due to a hard landing or blades getting caught in the grass. Any of these will most likely result in stripped gears. However 90% of the time the only gears effected are the main gear and the cone gear. I did lose an inner drive shaft gear once and the two tail gears I have never had to replace.
My first suggestion, if you have not already done so, is download the exploded diagram for the V200D03 from Walkera's website. This will help tremendously when performing any repairs.
Here are some tips to help you with gear replacement on the V200D03.
Here's how to replace the cone gear...
1st, remove the strut bars holding up the tail boom. Then remove the wire clamp on the side of the frame and disconnect the rudder servo from the Rx. Now remove the 8 screws that go into the tail boom holder (4 on each side). With a slight tug, the tail boom comes right out. Easier to get to the cone gear this way. Remove the collar at the bottom of the cone gear shaft. Now you have to remove the tiny little pin that holds the cone gear in place. Then push the cone gear shaft through the bottom until it drops out and.... viola. Out comes the cone gear.
To replace the main gear...
Remove the swash plate linkages to the rotor head. Then remove the one side of the servo arms that connect to the swash plate and lay them down gently. Now the swash plate should move freely up and down the main shaft. Next, remove the set screw holding the main shaft collar in place. Remove the main gear bolt (and don't forget to also remove the nut on the other side of the main gear). Now you should be able to pull the main shaft up and slide the gear off and out the right side of the frame.
Reassemble in reverse order. Note of caution...be careful of the gear meshing when reassembling and make sure there is no binding, or you will end up with another stripped gear.
Also, you should check the drive shaft gear to make sure it is not damaged. If so, replace it, as well. You already have the boom out and the gear comes as part of the set, so you might as well replace it too.
