Yeah, The V400D02 doesn't seem to be a big seller. There are a few people I know who have them on another forum. I think the biggest sale killer for the V400 is the tail motor. Most heli guys believe nothing bigger than a 200 size heli should have a tail motor. It should be a crime, one guy said. I think most people who are looking for a 400 size heli will spend the extra money and get the V450 instead. Personally, I like the looks of the V400 better than the V450. But, now Walkera is about to release a new version of the V450. The V450D03. It has a 6-Axis gyro and it almost looks like an Align bird with a blue and yellow canopy. www.walkera.com/en1/particular.jsp?pn=V450D03

Hi guys. I think you are right majic1. The V400 is indeed a very nice and good looking bird that actually flys very well. I'm going to keep one for myself, I think. I actually sold one to a soldier in Afghanistan and he loves the thing.
We should be getting some V450D03s in about 2 weeks. Word of caution, however. It is actually the V450D01 with a plastic frame which makes it less expensive but also less durable. I haven't made up my mind whether to carry them or not yet even though Walkera tells me they fly well. Most parts, aside from the frame structure, are interchangeable with the 6-axis version of the V450D01.
The V450D01 have been very popular and the V450BD5 seems to be a hit even though it is on the expensive side. Already almost sold out and bringing in more.

I've got a V400d02 as well. I've got through several rebuilds with it as it was my first CP heli. Servo replacement is a must! I've got the HS 5055MG servos installed and they work great. Also upgraded the skids and installed a fuse for the tail motor. Its a very friendly helicopter to fly now. Took awhile to get it zeroed in, but its an almost hands off hover bird now. I'd like to upgrade to the brushless motor next.
Also have the 450D03. Used plastic yes, but very well built! Very easy to fly!!!

Got the Shakes This is my first cp and I am new to Helis. I have been crash/flying some micro 4 ch fp to build up my confidence. 1st flight on my v400 spooled up and smoothed out started to lift off and it shook the traing balls off the gear! tried a 2nd time same.Took the ping pong balls off and just flew on the rods pretty smoothed hovered around up and down thru a full batt. 2nd flight (new charge on batt) stll did not like the balls, took them off again, severe shakes on lift off, took gear off seem to settle down, tried a diff set of training gear a friend had, did not like it shakes bad as soon as the skids lift off ground, took off and went back to no train gear, surprise the shake is still there!! I am flying inside my big shop no wind, andthis bird has not been crashed (YET) any idea how to run the shake grimlen out. I know I did not by my birds here but I just found you guys.not asking for warr just advice. and the batt for my master cp works perfect. Nice touch the personal touch note on the recept. I'm here now for all my parts and upgrades !!! Thanks

Back to original post question about shaking. Are the main blades and tail blades balanced? Is the feather shaft straight? I don't have a 400 but shaking was a problem until I balanced the main blades on my M120 and UFLYS with training gear. Not sure why training gear brings it out but it did on mine. Dale

not sure, I don't have a prop balancer to chk the main blades. I played with it some more turned down the gyros to full neg no diff, took the main blades off and spooled it up in my hand it has some vibration. found 1 screw missing on the port aft lower servo mount ,the strb lower was loose, actualy found the screw laying on the carpet were I was testing (lucky) tighten everything back up. retested hit and miss sometimes it shakes right when it breaks free of ground sometimes not bad. played with grip tension from loose to tight not much effect on this prob. There is slight play in mainshaft side to side. This bird has 1 batt cycle run thru it with no crashes not even a bump. will see if I can figure out a way to chk blade balance (tracking looks dead on) however my master cp flys dead solid

Other than replacing the main shaft barring I have no more suggestions.
I bought a balancer very early on but it doesn't work with quadcopter propellers. I will need to get one soon.
Good luck and let us know what you find.
