Some of you flyers may be involved with other RC hobby areas as I am . Airplanes for me .
Today I was wanting to make a nose for my Ugly Stick and did not have any styrofoam on hand from which to work . I decided to try some PolyEthylene based stuff . (the kind that milk jugs are made with amonst others) The basic construction with this stuff is to glue together enough of it to make blocks . Epoxy will work for attaching the bubbly surfaces while silicone works for everything else . Rough out a basic shape with a snap blade knife that is somewhat oversized for the final finish . The MAGIC comes from using a covering iron set around 3 on the scale and ironing over the foam . A dabbing action will carefully melt the foam bubbles and slightly shrink the block while leaving an extremely glossy finish ! Awesome to work with . VELCRO or glue the finished part on you model to complete . Light , flexible and very durable parts to be sure .
