I keep reading about 3axis vs 6axis and I'm still confused at what to expect from a 6axis heli. Can you help explain?

Yesir, The 6 axis heli is switchable so that as you are in learning mode the six axis makes the device more stable.... To the point where you cannot do any acrobatics. As you gain enperience or if you are already experienced you can go directly into 3axis mode for stunt flying. 6 axis is more for the novice. Great question! Hope that helps. Dave

Received my V450D03 (RX2703H-D) in good shape, except a servo (ELEV) burned out in the first 5 min of power up. At any rate. Where are the instructions to change the Gyro from 3 to 6? Would that be the MIX switch? On another note, I assumed the gyro would operate while in power up state, motor disconnected. It took me nearly a week to figure out that the throttle must be on for the gyros to kick in. I have a CB180Q where the gyros work even when no throttle is used. So if your wondering why the gyro isn't working, try disconnecting motor, and move throttle on a bit

You can not control the gyro on the 2703 from the transmitter. I did check with the factory to verify that. There is an on/off switch on the top of the receiver where all of the other controls are located to control the accelerometers which are the additional 3 gyro functions.
Hope this helps. I will post a picture later today. Not at my desk right now.

Opps, I should have said I was using a F7 TX. It advertizes the ability to adjust the gyros in flight.

Some gyros can be adjusted in flight, the Ladybird, the QR X400, the Hoten X etc. However the V450 RX2703 is not switchable in flight. It is a function of the receiver as to whether it can be done during flight or not. About any 5 or more channel transmitter can support it if the receiver allows it. I am attaching a photo of the receiver along with a description of each of the controls on the top of it. The Number 13 switch is what is used to switch between 3 and 6 axis. Attachments:
